FORENSIC PSYCHOLOGY
EMERGE provides forensic psychology services to help improve the court’s understanding and responsiveness to the mental health needs of those involved with the criminal justice system. Services include psychological assessment of individuals with a focus on the dynamic and static risk factors for criminal behavior. EMERGE presents psychological reports to the court that provide information regarding mitigating factors in sentencing as well as evidence-based treatment recommendations for rehabilitation that help lead justice-involved individuals toward desistance from criminal activity. EMERGE also works with civil attorneys providing psychological consultation, evaluation and treatment, as well as expert testimony. The program is led by Dr. Jennie Singer, a licensed clinical psychologist who has been working in the field of forensic psychology since 1995.
